So your memory is beginning to fail you these days. Could stress be the cause. Animal studies have shown that long term exposure to cortical, a stress hormone released by the adrenal gland, kills memory – forming newborns.
Now it seems that high cortical levels have the same destruction effects in humans. Neuroscientists at Rockefeller University in New York and at two Canadian universities have found evidence that stress related brain damage may explain why we often have trouble remembering things as we age.
