Facts About COKE

Just this morning, I together with my mom is watching an early morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda" (What a Beautiful Morning) and Kuya Kim, the host had a segment about what acid does to our body. What he did is that he poured a cup of vinegar to a raw meat and in just a couple minutes...the meat turned pale, so pale as a meat you just took out of the freezer. He said that the meat symbolizes our organs in the body like liver and the vinegar corresponds to any type of acid such as coke, beer and any other type of beverages. To be honest with you, I was shocked. I never imagined that Coke, my favorite drink... my constant companion during lunch and dinner does this to my body. I still can't believe it so what I did is I researched the net for any article that would at least support what Kuya Kim reported and I was shocked by the hundred of blogs covering the said topic.

When I did my research on this topic, I read some where about some of the properties of Coke which I think you might find interesting and will have some idea how harmful it can be.

  • In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
  • You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
  • To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
  • To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
  • To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
  • To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
  • To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
  • To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
  • It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

I don't think I would look at Coke the same way I looked at it before upon reading this. Never again!

*FYI: The Coke itself is not the enemy, here. It’s the dynamic combo of massive sugar doses combined with caffeine and phosphoric acid. Things which are found in almost all soda.
